Who We AreA group of believers who gather to worship pray and participate together to edify and build one another up in the faith.we are a no frills group, not intersted in hype of any kind, but are committed to seeing people come into the kingdom of God through the only true door Jesus Christ, and the fruit of that will be a submitted life of willing joyful service to God and His work. We have also planted other churches out of HCC and this with great passion and zeal,we went into Onehunga to buy a wedding dress for Carol as we were celebrating 25 years of marriage and while outside the shop I felt something of an urge to look at planting a church there, which we prayed about and talked it over and then in we went to Pah Rd and Fusion was started - with a cost of course,we saw God move and provide however we also experienced opposition, yet we continued with faith and committed people,we also went into South Auckland leading a number to Christ during meetings on a Thursday evening then baptising 12 new converts,we also experienced opposition and due to lack of experienced ministry to call upon we had to let that go to disappointment. However after 36 plus years in service we are still passionate for Christ His Kingdom and church..
How We StartedCarol and I became christians in May 1973, wow a blinder it was, God and His spirit all over us and within a short time we were in serving God at West City AOG. We helped start it and away we went doing worship, leading youth young married we were Elder's over everything that moved,a great learning time of nine plus years as assistant Pastor's then we moved on and hit Wellington and were there eight years, then moved back to Auckland after planting, pastoring and evangelising in Wellington NZ - I hated the cold and still do.We saw some amazing things while in Wellington, peoples lives transformed, miracles in varied places and the grace of God upon many, ourselves included as our lives were threatened a number of times, its not for the faint hearted at all. We started HCC in our rented househore in Aucklands North Shore and then moved into the Chelsea Hotel Bar on Sunday evenings, shock and horror to some but people came and the Holy Spirit was very present. The rest is a roller coaster ride and we are still doing it,too many stories to tell. Carol working three jobs and me doing gigs till 2am in the morning then doing my furniture recovery business, plus in the studio singing KFC and McDonalds jingles and the rest. Got to make the $$.
We lived in a garage when we first came back to Auckland for goodness sake, to get it started ! The a small tent just outside the garage where the boys were sleeping --- exciting aye successful aye ...... Crazy, Crazy mission of God ! Im not sure that people really understand the cost involved in church planting until they do it themselves. ...................Meanwhile here we are encouraging edifying -comforting the body of Christ,marrying- burying - dedicating - recording - what a life ! You have to be called to do it Im convinced of that. Blessings Evan & Carol Silva. |
